Dead Space 'remains an important IP to EA'
Responding to claims that the Dead Space series has effectively been axed after missing its sales targets, Electronic Arts has said the franchise remains an "important" intellectual property for the publisher.
EA told us in a statement this afternoon: "While we have not announced sales for Dead Space 3, we are proud of the game and the franchise remains an important IP to EA."
The publisher admitted last year that it was examining ways to broaden the franchise's appeal, with EA Labels president Frank Gibeau telling CVG: "Ultimately you need to get to audience sizes of around five million to really continue to invest in an IP like Dead Space.
"Anything less than that and it becomes quite difficult financially given how expensive it is to make games and market them."
Battlefield 3: End Game launch trailer jumps the gun – available to Premium players next week
EA have released the launch trailer for Battlefield 3′s final DLC pack, End Game. Logically, then, you’d assume this last hooah of maps, vehicles and modes has released? Nope! The huddled troops of the PC nation have another week to wait for the End Game supply drop. Meanwhile an army of PS3 owning premium members are free to unwrap the new arsenal from today. Fie on their black boxes and reduced server size!
End Game is scheduled to hit PC on March 12th for Premium subscribers, with everyone else required to twiddle their thumbs in anticipation for the March 26th general release. The DLC brings Capture the Flag and Air Superiority modes, three new vehicles, a dropship and four new maps, each based on a different season. A bit like what Vivaldi did, just with explosions and killing.
As you can plainly see from the trailer, bike-based capture the flag action seems to be a ridiculous slice of fun. Hopefully the same madcap chases will be equally as forthcoming outside of DICE’s carefully choreographed trailer making.

Screenshots of Eidos Montreal’s upcoming Thief 4 have been tracked down by the vigilant Grath ofNeoGAF. The shots come courtesy of Russian site GamesManiac, who refer to the game simply as Thief, noting the lack of a number at the end – or in the middle – of the title. In them we see Garrett cling to walls, hang from ropes, and perform other sneaky eyeball-avoiding moves. It all looks a bit Dishonored, which is apt, given that Dishonored looked a bit Thief.
Up until know, Thief 4 has admirably managed to avoid detection. We knew it was being worked on by Eidos Montreal, last seen successfully rebooting Deus Ex, before moving on to Tomb Raider’s multiplayer modes. The last potential sighting was in June last year, when this supposedly leaked trailer surfaced.

In order to survive his adventures, Garrett will have to pay attention to his environment and make use of the may possible paths through each of the game’s levels.”
